Five miles from me and did not know it was on!
David,

It was mentioned to me by a friend of Julian Bowen, who was hosting the event at his house and gardens in Ravenshead. I asked the JEC organiser and blagged an invite even though I am not a JEC member, hence the reason why I didn't publicise the event beforehand. With hindsight, anyone with an e type would have been very welcome regardless of JEC membership. This is an annual event and I suggest you look out for it next year - I will be going

Are you aware of an informal classic car meet at Langar Hall from 3pm onwards on 13th August and also the Petwood Concours D'Elegance in Woodhall Spa is on 13th August with Jazz entertainment on the Terrace. Gates open at 10am. Admission free for visitors. Entrant charges on the day of £10 cars/£7 motorcycles. Jazz from Andrew Wood Jazz Trio on the Terrace from 12pm.

Yes, we went to the classic cars and lunch last year although there was not as many cars as in previous years presumably following the untimely death of Imogen. Not heard of the Woodhall Spa event, I will check it out. Last Jazz, lunch and classic car we went to was at Chateau Montcaud in Sabran which was excellent. Unfortunately the owner, Rudy Baur, passed away a couple of years ago and the Hotel is closed. Rudy was the best hotelier and host I have ever met - great loss.

David, I did not know Rudy had passed away. That is sad news. I still remember him waiting up untill 3am in the morning for us to arrive when we were running late due to mechanical problems.
It is a shame that the hotel is closed, it was a great venue or maybe Rudy made it that way.
Great loss.
