Cleaning wheels

I used to use a jet washer to clean the wheels. Then I stopped.

That was after I’d had a puncture. When I removed the tube to repair it I discovered that the tube was peppered with rust from the spoke nipples in the wheel rim. Since then I’ve not used the jet washer. Since then I’ve had no more rust in the wheel rim.

+1 for MWS cleaning products - 2 stages. Wheels off a couple of times a year for proper cleaning.

Also, to save sore fingers I find wooden chopsticks very good for getting cloths between the spokes.

I always finish off with a coat of car polish; always seems to help protect them.
