G’day Richard, I fitted a new set of 5” MWS chrome wires and Michelin XVS 185’s to my 3.8, replacing XVX 205’s and the transformation was very noticeable. Much lighter steering at low and parking speeds and also more fun to steer with the throttle ;) They are also wearing well with spirited driving. At the time, the Michelin’s, bought from Longstone, were freight free anywhere in the world, which made them particularly attractive to me here in Aus.

Cheers,
Pete

Hi Pete
I’ve settled on a set of 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classics. The current wires have the 205 version of them so hopefully the low speed feel should improve.
Hopefully get the tyres on the rims this week and fit them at the weekend.

G’day Richard,
A mate has a set of 185 Vredestein Sprints on his 3.8 Mk2 and is very happy with them. I’m sure you’ll be delighted with the outcome. Personally I reckon the early E Types look “correct” running 185’s and no doubt they drive nicely too.

Cheers,
Pete

Cheers Pete.

Steve, I think they were the 185vr15 - can’t remember if they were 70 or 80.

They are the 80 profile I’m assuming.
