It can be caused by several things, camera, colour adjustment, monitor calibration, etc. It was the only OSB 3.8 on xkedata with RAU registration, so I thought it could be the one.

There was a freshly restored OSB coupe at a Dutch meeting some time ago, it was also closer to silver than to this one. Looked very good. Some thing were overdone though, the cam covers looked chrome plated, instead of polished alu. To each his own, I guess.

For the record: I prefer the silvery OSB over the blueish.

I agree that the camera, camera settings, the image processing and the light (time of day, intensity, etc.), all play a role in how OSB looks. And then there are all the factors of the paint itself ? what type, what mix, etc., etc.

I have nevertheless been surprised at just how much it varies.

The first 4 pics are all of the same car on the same afternoon:

And the same car on a sunnier day:

To compare, another car

And another car ? in bright light

In contrast to cars 1 & 3, car 2 shows no metallic effect ? at least in subdued light...

Direct comparison car 3 on the left & car 2 on the right ? though the sunlight is brighter in the car 3 pic. Both are "OSD".
