Mrs Gravygraham keeps asking me probing questions about the car's ability to make it as far as the county border, and about the validity of our RAC membership so I took myself out for an early morning shake-down today. She's running beautifully. That's surely put the kybosh in it!
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow peeps.

Marek - thanks for letting me know. Sadly I'm abroad at the moment so will miss what promises to be a great gathering.MarekH wrote:Dear Chris (Vine) - I have made an indicator stalk ring for the s2 and I'll bring that with me along with your original.
I hope the weather holds and I'm looking forward to all the photos of the event.

I've managed to fit my refurbished steering rack today (only took 5 hours...) and all good so the S3 will be my mode of transport to the show. :D
Does anyone know if the event will be much fun for a 6 year old and a wife who does like cars but gets bored easily...??

I think it will be a hood up tomorrow on the drive down until it gets above 7degs. That's assuming it ever does. These 5am starts are not good for the soul or the body. See you all there, Have the coffee on.

Regrettably the weather here has forced a decision to stay at home and in a way I feel I've let Andrewh down. Anyway, I hope all participants are able to enjoy a good day. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Graham - The rain we've had this morning in the south-east is clearing away and it looks set fair behind:

The event's on all day 'til four. Why not aim for a mid-morning arrival!

Well I set off this morning at 9 but didn't get very far. The engine was very hot but the radiator was just warm. I took the thermostat out but that was full open so it didnt nake any difference.
I hobbled home but the engine stopped, I dont think it liked being that hot.
So now sat at the side of the road waiting for a break down truck to take me the last couple of miles to my house.....
Hopefully the engine is still ok

Set off from Surrey at 7:30am in rain which soon cleared up. I'm sure better photos will follow but here's a panorama I took of as many of our cars as I could see..(apologies for the intruder in the foreground, I allowed it as I've just bought one) Thanks for starting the ball rolling Andrew, great to see your car appearing out of the sleet in my rear view mirror this morning! Brilliant day out, when's the next one?

Really enjoyable day. We also set off in the rain but it soon cleared and then blue skies rewarded us.
Huge thanks to Andrew for organising, and great to meet a few of you :)
That's my primrose S2 in the photo above in the foreground, with me in the middle of the group of three talking to Steve on my right (mgcjag).
I thought Bicester Heritage was a great site, really enjoyed wandering around seeing the various stalls and businesses, and there was a nice eclectic mix of cars there. Would definitely do another of their events.
Thanks all :D

What a great day out and thanks to Andrew for organising it. Really good to meet up with people and put faces to names. I think we had about 45 E-Type's (with a few more parked up the field). Simon is going to do a photo album but in the meantime here are a few my wife took:

Angus trying to convince Marek to start making EDIS/Megajolt kits:

Me and two Simon's:

Simon managed to blag his way in and get parked with the rest of us:

Next outing will be the High Peak run organised by Simon on the 10th July.

well that was fun, thank you all for making the day such a great success. I had serious doubts when I run into heavy rain/sleet on the M25, but it turned out to be really quite nice weather after all. Bicester Heritage on an open day is a fun place. Like stepping into an episode of Foyles War or similar. 45 E types, wow. Great to see those I managed to see and sorry for those I missed. E nicely back home in its warm garage, 17.5 mpg I reckon. Cant wait to see more photos.
