E-Type major price correction expected?!

I am certainly not seeing any "price corrections" on e-types, 911's, commercial property or anything else for that matter.

I was not really expecting one either.

The only "price correction" I have come across is that petrol is cheap!

Not to be argumentative, but I believe that the 1961 Sotheby's car does indeed have an original horn button.

Yes, the horn push is original but the spinners are the badly made/fitting repro ones.

It (the red one) also does not have its original commission plate (no gap in Tex_aco) and has a speedometer from a 4.2 (vertical bars between the trip meter digits). The paint job does not look great in places (look at the orange peel on the scuttle in front of the windscreen) and there is a rust hole in one of the outer sills (raising concerns over what is under the shiny paint elsewhere).

Yes, the black ‘62 OTS has a reproduction horn button, while the blue ‘61 has an original one. We’re all on the same page.

Look at picture 23/161 for the botched repair of the IRS cage.

Looks like pictures were taken by someone deliberately trying to show without actually showing.

Lots of body filler, by the look of it and not so good panel repairs.

My comments to the mate who's looking at it were

Looks like a good paint job covering up potential horrors, so I would buy it as you'll feel comfortably at home.

Shut-lines odd, hood-chromes front-rear badly fitted, manifolds been tarted up just for the picture, no pictures of the underneath, and Anya doesn't like the colour.

And which idiot thought extra brake-lights should be added ?

Drive it and get it up on the lift.

PS - Don't buy anything until you've emptied the shed of everything else you never use.

I can see no rust hole : there is a drain shown in 2 or 3 of the photos, which I think you are misinterpreting. It is a car that I feel I recognise , but I know nothing of its history - to me it's a fairly usable car with a lot of poor detailing

The hole in picture No30 is a drain hole. I am sure that is a standard feature on all cars. Unless I am wrong.
