#1 E Type reborn

Post by Hugo » Tue May 23, 2017 11:20 am

I just picked up a copy of 'Octane' magazine - the front cover had a picture of an E Type which caught my eye. I suspect this is old news, but JLR are now building 'new' E Types from donor cars. They have re-created the tooling using reverse engineering from a good rust-free example, which they dismantled panel-by-panel and mapped them using some clever computer stuff.
If you can afford £285,000 for a 're-born' E Type, you won't be put off by the £5 price tag on the magazine. That used to be half a week's wages!
