silly question

#1 silly question
I'm sure I should be able to figure this out, but the little circles to the left of each post in the Forum; - some have red stars, some have 'moving' text, some have neither - what does it all mean? Can't find any relation to anything.

As far as I can tell, Blue indicates "You've read it (all)", Red indicates "Has a (new) entry you haven't read".
There are only a limited number of states of a thread/topic. These include:
read/unread
change/no change since you last looked at it
someone is currently composing a reply in that thread
This thread is a "hot one" (many replies in last N days)

- Red icons are unread items
- Blue/grey icons are read items
- A star on any topic means you have posted in
- Scrolling lines is a popular topic with more than 25 posts
There is a forum FAQ - click on the bubble icon at top left of screen below E-Type brochure.
