#1 A visit to Paul Brown’s

Whenever I’m home, I tend to pop in to see Paul Brown and his team, who are a matter of 15 mins from where I live, to have a cuppa and catch up on his latest going’s-on.

Although I don’t always take photos, I’ve seen quite a few cars go through his workshop. He always lets me sit in them, learn what’s going on, and generally is very good with encouraging me to keep the dream alive. (He even tries to sell me cars, knowing full well I don’t have the money for them yet  He always supports the High Peak Run every year and has ensured that John’s (V12 Epyte) car has been on the run for all 4 years!

I will try and dig up some pictures of this particular car before restoration, but this one is now 90% complete, and actually has its MOT. This S2 came over from Jamaica a few years ago, and was a little rough. To see it looking as it does now is fantastic.

Another one saved indeed.

Nice work, but for those of us who don't know, who and where is Paul Brown?

Regards

I should have said that. Sorry, Stu.

Paul Brown (of Paul Brown Classic Jaguar) is a specialist E-Type restorer located in Ripley, Derbyshire. He carries out full rebuilds, paintwork in-house, servicing, modifications and the like.

His details are also in the knowledge base, and he has pointed out a number of excellent original features to me / us in the past too.

Now that I think about it, did Paul used to work for Derek Watson? If so, then I have met him and was impressed by his understanding and work ethic.

Once upon a time he did work for Derek, Stuart, although he has been independent for a while now IIRC.

I'm looking for someone to do the bodywork and paint on my 420 so may consider Paul. I think he did some work on it when it was in at Watjag a few years ago. I know Ken Jenkins did.
