Ah I got it !
He wrote he later discovered the db9 was on credit. So it means he took it in. About the e-type, he says he has not been able to trace it.
This means he SOLD (part-swapped) the E-Type for the DB9 he took in, plus he gave 16k cash away.
After that a third party claimed ownership of the db9 because it was under foreign credit and the swapper did not say that- in fact the swapper did not own the db9.
Then, after the deal, he tried to get his e-type back but it vanished. This is how he lost it all- the 16k gone, the db9 gone, the E gone to „somewhere“ as well.
Very sad.

The heritage certificate was issue to Victory Classic Cars in the Netherlands. This is ER Classics.

They should have a paper trail of who they sold it to after Jan 17.

I found it remarkable that he thought the 2+2 in that condition was worth £34,000, and that after restoration to concourse it would be worth £160,000!
