Glue cantrail seals

Hi all,

I am about to replace the hoodframe -to-doorglas cantrail seals on my OTS using seals from Baines. What kind of glue can you recommend? Where to glue - only the channel or also the sealing section?

Rory had good results using Loctite 5375 as per this very interesting write up he did

100% support the recommendation of using Rory’s post for reference.

Based on his feedback and write up I used two of his recommended Loctite products on my door seals replacement during the winter and have been delighted with the results.

I believe I still have a black super-sticky Loctite cartridge lying around - will have a look what number it has.

The 5910 product is black and super strong. It is brilliant if you want a very firm fixture and it can also be used to fill gaps. But once it’s dry then you have committed whatever you have stuck. It will destroy rubber seals if you have to take them off.

5375 not as strong, much easier to work and is clear. I have a rear hatch alignment problem at the moment and had to remove the new seals to see if that was the issue ( it wasn’t) but the seals were not damaged and could be cleaned up and reapplied.

I used 5375 for most of my seals but then small quantities of 5910 where I wanted extra adhesion or to fill small gaps. All good so far.

I've just used some 5375. Very pleased with it. Best results I've had so far.

I’ve just purchased those two products after reading Rory’s posts - looking forward to testing them out on the new seals and external trim.
