Just found out that Vredestein have stopped supplying the 185R15 91H. The replacement will be V rated rather than H. Cost will be higher, naturally,

I've just bought a set of H rated from a website called Roundtriptyres. £112 per corner, the V rated were £131 if memory serves me correctly.
Seems I've bought them just in time.

I have to say, i am not a massive fan of the Vredesteins

I also don't think a H rated tyre is really good enough for an e-type.

How right you are Dougal. The dreaded Vreds are just awful when driving the E type with some gusto. No wonder they are cheaper.

Try Goodyear Advantage A/S tires...cheaper, great handling, easily get 40K miles. I'm sure they make the size you need.

Each to their own, but I must say I've done track days at Goodwood, driving with a great deal of gusto, on my Vreds. Held the road well, no dramas.

Picture at the chicane, inside front wheel starting to go light, car staying square and holding well.

I have vredesteins on all my Jaguars except the Mark IX, and have nothing but praise for them, and as I have said before, the person who put me on to them initially was Dougal, who has never explained why he changed his mind about them

I’ve said this before (probably elsewhere) that Vreds may not be the best, but the others are no where near £100 per comer better.

I now have two spares (on top of the five on the car) waiting for the need to mount and balance them. Should see me through the next few years.

Not that our road tyres should be expected to be front row capable on track but if we take a closer look at Malcolm's picture and we can see the contact patch is running into the sidewall , is there a darker scrubbed area appearing on the sidewall ? .
