Does anyone know if the Jaguar logo on the spinners were painted with black paint from the factory on any E types? I have seen pictures of some with the black lettering. And for sure appears some from factory on Mk1 & 2 cars according to some originality books on Mk1 & 2 cars.
Any thoughts or advice on what is correct?
Have 1960 Mk2 and 1965 E coupe.
Thanks,
John

All eared spinners were chromed and the Jaguar was unpainted. S2 Federal earless spinnners had the logo in black. More details in Factory Fit thread.

Lofty,
Looked through the factory fit, did not find any further info on painted spinner Jaguar logo?
Can you advise what one would search under, tried most common words?
Seems like may of the pictures in some of my books must not be accurate? Nigel Thorley book on Factory Original Mk1 & 2 cars states the Mk1 & 2 Jaguar and Daimler knockoffs were painted black? Must be wrong?
Thanks,
John

With the input on S1 car, decided to leave my 1965 E coupe with unpainted logos on the spinners, it is only a 20,000 mile original car. Painted the spinners on the Mk2 as it is an updated/modernized Mk2, not all original. What I found on saloons is they did have black on the spinner logos so maybe correct there, not that it matters on modified car.
Thanks for the input.
