So my learned chums , a couple of weeks back I asked opinions on a change in career, so with a leap of faith I jumped ship and left a company I worked for / with for 23 years , initially I touted my fabrication skills on Face Book , and I have got a guy that wants me to fabricate some metal and set up the initial start up of car in the next coming months , ( a zetec in a sprite ) but in the mean time I applied for a job advertised at a classic car restoration company , been there a few days now and wow does it feel good to work for a company where ALL the guys that work there (rather than about a 3rd of the workforce) have a passion for the work and put all their time into effort into getting it right !! yep I'm a bit ( read a lot!!) Chuffed to be working at E Type UK.
Once again cheers for all the advice you guys gave me :yellow:

Well done Darren,

Sounds like excellent news to me. You hit the jackpot first time trying.

I am very pleased for you. Good luck!

I ‘spose being able to drive your own CV to the interview might have been a help! Kudos!

I know my skills lie elsewhere, I’d love to be able to fabricate stuff, just like my Dad used to. I have two left hands, both full of thumbs. Dad recently told me it took him a whole weekend and after work on Monday to cut threads for a camera lens adaptor. The thread had multiple starts, each one indexed and cut individually on a lathe.

(I think I know what that means!)

Congratulations on getting a job that you obviously love doing. Bit like a sportsperson getting paid for playing his/her sport.

Now, is there anybody at your company that really really knows, and i mean really knows how to tune and set up a V12 PROPERLY. :fingerscrossed:

You need to talk to MarekH (on the forum), I'm sure he will be along to advise shortly as his own improved V12 is "sweet", if not PM him
