Do you have a name for your E-type ?

If so what inspired it ? The numberplate perhaps or the character of the car.

Are E-types male or female ?

I'm just curious to know what others think.

lol..... okay I will get this rolling....

I have owned my etype for over 25 years... and I was in my early 20's when I bought it... there was a bugs bunny cartoon at the time where Bugs met the abominable snowman and for some reason the said creature fell in love with bugs bunny...

Author takes a deep breath....

the snowman coined a line "i am gonna hug him and squeeze him and call him George..." Somehow that hit a chord with my love for my car....

... and for 25 years all my friends have known my Etype as "George"

Not proud.... but its true.... :D

My S2 OTS, which originally was ALB4G, is Albert , and my FHC BVT366C is Braveheart, both names given by my wife!

Are E-types male or female ?

my youngest boy (now 17) used to say (and still does) when we started looking for an E-Type in 2001 that the V12 , with its wider aspect , are male cars and all the rest (S1, S1,5 and S2 ) female cars

I always used to name my cars "Bibiche" (it does not translate...) when I have a special link with it : it started with first Renault 4L when I was student.

Because my car was made on March 26th 1965 I was thinking of calling it Diana; this being Diana Ross's birthday. But somehow the name doesn't hang properly. A male name seems more fitting even though its a feminine looking car.

I personally struggle with names for cars, but my wife refers to my V12 Coupe as Bluebird and I'll go along with that...

By coincidence my family were talking about this just last weekend. No firm conclusions were reached but 'Eric' is ahead by a nose....

I was never one for naming cars until my wife and I both had Citroens at one point. So to clarify which car we were talking about we called the Xantia 'Wallace' and the AX 'Grommet'. Now I have the E-Type and I thought Ernie because it starts with E, and I love the song by Benny Hill.

My fianc?e has named all my cars! all the Jaguars are names with a J and the Daimler's are with a D so I have Jules Jerry Jeffrey Dooley and so on, only problem is I can never remember them all. :?

And I can relate to Bibiche too !!!
