#1 Whatever happened to ...?

Does anyone know what happened to the chap who used to decorate his posts with multiple smileys? Not that I miss the smileys, but I was surprised that a prolific poster ( I can't remember his ID ) suddenly disappeared

Christopher,
Clive felt that the (considerable) support and advice he got from experts like yourself on this forum did not adequately meet his needs as a 'Home Enthusiast' and that he'd be better off setting up his own website (which he did - don't know if it still extant).
Bye, Clive. :D

Indeed - only person we have ever had to ban (other than Viagra salesmen) as he decided not only to set up his own Forum (fair enough) but decided to decorate his posts here with links to it. To add insult to injury he wrote an introduction saying the E-Type Forum was dedicated to "cheque book restoration" and not for" true enthusiasts" like himself. I took a straw poll of members and spoke to Harry Fulford and the consensus was life here was better without him around. He certainly took away more value than he added.

Same here! My wife says I should total them up - I don't think I could stand that.

I met Clive at Prescott for the first time a couple of weeks ago, we had a couple of beers and I can tell you that he is just a regular chap - how can he not be, he likes beer and E-Types. The internet is impersonal, we sometimes make statements here that we may not make face-to-face but having met Clive he's ok by me.

I too met Clive with Dave and can confirm he is a regular guy whos' approach can, at times, seem a bit bullish an misguided. Who here can say they are perfect? :D BTW, I wasn't consulted about banning him so you can't blame me!

Are you advocating a bring back Clive campaign?

Nick.

Nick, no - not my call. I love diversity even if i is challenging and confrontational. I often use the phrase 'I might not agree with your view but I support your freedom in expressing it' (or something like that!).
