The 'E' Type Forum

Hi Forum,
This is something of a unusual post and its only loosely E-type related so i apologise to administators in advance if i have breached any guidelines.
At SNGB we are looking for an electrical engineeer who is keen to work with us on a few development projects. This wouldnt be full time work and i am approaching the forum as we feel that the role would be best suited to someone who has the skills but also understands the application of the parts that they are helping to design.
What we are particularly looking for is somebody who can take some of the troublesome electrical products and design a way for them to work better than they do currently.

This might be an ideal job for a retired engineer who fancies a small number of special projects each year alonside us.

That’d be anything with a Lucas label on it?

Another libel against poor old Joe !

As I never tire of telling people, the first 500,000 miles of my 1.3 million mile motoring career was exclusively on Lucas electrics, some of the units quite old, and I never had a single failure - apart from one or two bulb failures - in that time . I wish I could say the same for AC Delco and most particularly for Bosch, the unreliability of whose fuel pumps in my wifes Peugeot 504Ti nearly resulted in divorce!

I'd concur - Signore Marelli in my experience is at least as culpable and I regret to say that the Teutonic Herr Bosch has let me down many more times and in newer cars than the Prince of Darkness ever has.
