Hi All.I'm getting lots of knocking from nearside front suspension and having had a good look can only suspect Roll bar bushes 'cos the roll bar has 'crept' towards the offside .
My question is polybushes preferably from Bob Beere or should I fit original rubber ones and do I stop with those or replace the complete set back and front?
Many thanks Simon

Polybushes last longer but need to rotate on the anti-roll bar to work. This means you must use the correct grease otherwise they creak and groan in dry hot weather. I replaced my polybushes with original rubber ones and to be honest the difference is minimal although I think there is now less kick back through the steering wheel. If you want the original Jaguar feel and ride stick with the rubber, if you want a firmer less forgiving ride go with the polybushes. There is a thread here with differing opinions plus a 'mod' to try and overcome the 'squeak': http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1632

Hi Simon,
I like David tried the Polybush kit when I built my series I OTS into a lightweight copy. I too found the car made all sorts of odd noises and went back to the original bushes. With original bushes in good condition I think there is very little difference in cars feel between the two types. I did rotate the lager raduis arm bush through 90 degrees when installing so the two holes in the bushes are now on either side rather than front to rear this helps control the rear sub frame movement :D

Thanks for replies and it still seems that the jury is out on this one.My knocking problem is a bit of a difficult one in that I'm not sure if it's the exhaust hitting the body at the passenger well.I have put Rob Beere engine mounts on and they are slightly taller than standard. The exhaust now has about a 5 mm clearance at this point but it is nice and tight and needs a hefty push with my hand to make contact with the body. Also I have noticed that knocking only starts after about 2 miles.A mechanic friend reckons it is suspension but we have both had a good poke about and are still puzzled.
Any ideas
Thanks Simon
