What is your opinion about this 1961 OTS?

She is obviously rust and accident free. Unfortunately without a continuously documented past and gaps that don't look good everywhere. After long storing she needs a general recommissioning. The vehicle is full driveable. The engine, gearbox and differential work nice. What is your opinion about the asking price? Set too high in my opinion.

The car has had plenty of not very good work done on it in the past - it needs a sympathetic body rebuild (expensive) .

That is an awful lot of money for a car that is essentially a sound basis for a restoration. I have a fully restored matching numbers 3.8 OTS from 1964 that I would sell you for the same money.

At a cursory glance it looks fairly original. The body frankly doesn't look good, especially the doors. Even buying it as a driver, you have no idea what work you'll need to do on the drivetrain etc, and that could add up to a lot.

Even at half the price I wouldn't be interested.

Not really a car for me. I saw this advert and was a bit surprised about the asking price.

I am very dubious about this car . The doors bulge and have bad gaps. From the front the whole car looks twisted although one has to be careful not to be influenced by badly fitted bumpers. From the Right hand side view the car looks to be "hogged", that is it sags slightly at the bulkhead area, and that suspicion is for me confimed when one sees that the bonnet top gap is smaller than the side gaps . It is either badly repaired , or in need of a complete rebuild in my opinion

Well I hope the new owner knows what is ahead for him - the car may have many early parts and is a good candidate for a nice rebuild , but it is not that early really and has been patched up/rebuilt partially - probably a few times over the last 60 years . A lot to do... and pay for.

Blimey...it’s not even a RHD car!!!!!
My RHD UK March 62 OTS was £45,000 3 yrs ago(intact and matching but now undergoing restoration ground up..as intended)

It doesn't look like a particularly happy situation.

On one hand, someone bought a car at Silverstone and five weeks later, they now don't want it, or five weeks after Silverstone, a car on offer then is still on offer now.
