#1 Purchasing and freight forwarding

Post by lowact » Wed Feb 10, 2021 7:57 am

I see we have 12 Polish members.
Ok, so I need a tank for my e-type petrol to propane conversion. I want a Stako W36008508 which is 85 L and designed to accommodate a Vialle LPi pump. Not easy to find.
Stako (Polish company) suggest I should buy it from Vialle (Netherlands company). Vialle consider one tank delivery to Australia would be too expensive.
Meanwhile I have found a potential retailer – in Poland:
http://www.sklep-lpg.com/vialle-zbiorni ... p-393.html
I’ve tracked this down to a smart looking residence in downtown Wegrzce. Their cost to deliver to Australia is brutal.
Fortunately, there is a very prominent Polish parcel forwarding service:
https://www.parcelpoland.tk/
Their cost to forward the tank to Aust. is more reasonable, although still more than the cost of the tank. However, PFP seems to be a one person operation, using a pseudonym and false portrait images (LinkedIn). The address I would need to send the 40 kg tank sent to is the 11th floor of a residential apartment block in Radom.
What to do …

Collin, Contact me offlist - I think I might be able to help :-)
If it's the same Wegrzce, then it's 5 min away from me.

Also, contact Marek - he did a LPG conversion, buying parts in Poland and might be able to advise...

I did a LPG conversion on my Range Rover 20 years ago, this was the last time I had contact with LPG - it's very popular here though and technology has moved since then.

Make sure it meets Australian ADRs or you may have trouble with registration.

Hello Tadek thank you very much for offering to assist, you are very generous. Unfortunately, there has been a set-back, I can buy the tank however the freight forwarding agent has decided he cannot deliver. So now I must find another way …

Hi,

can you let me know the weight and dimensions of the tank as well as the region in Australia where you would wish it to be delivered?

I can enquire for delivery here.

T.

Woohoo, tank has arrived, all the way from Poland!

Thanks to this Forum, in particular Tadek (ysmalkie) who went out of his way to assist, including visiting and reassuring the seller when their unfamiliarity with export outside the EU was threatening to derail the trade.
Massive thanks Tadek, I hope there is some way I can repay you.
