#1 SC Parts come up trumps!.......after waiting over 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Bigcatfrankie » Thu May 13, 2021 4:20 pm

Rejoice with me, one and all! The final part of my order with SC Parts, placed on 6 January 2021, was delivered today, after waiting over 4 months!
Of the 54 parts I ordered, (£550 in total), 48 arrived on 13 February with 5 arriving on 6 April. Some did not fit correctly whilst one was lost in the post through a gap in the bottom of the box, due to poor packaging!
I defy anyone to beat my experience with such an appalling parts service!
The annoying thing is that when I placed the order I was a young man with the whole of my life ahead of me; now I'm just a grumpy old codger!

I stopped using them many, many years ago.

I purchased a fuel pump from them once. When it needed to be returned, I sent it back by post, but they refused to even admit receipt. I ended up having to make a claim against the post office to get my money back.

I will never buy from them again.

kind regards
Marek

A frequent M.O. was to debit your card having promised the part was in stock. Then it wasn't.

I was once after a V12 version of the 123 distributor, which they said was available. I was at Stoneleigh and had cash from selling parts. I told the guy running their stall that I was sceptical about handing over cash based on a verbal commitment. We looked each other straight in the eye and he promised he definitely had one and would get it in the post when they opened on the Monday. You can figure out the rest...

Their policy used to be that in the event of parts not being available or wrong they would only give a credit against a future purchase rather than a refund.

You wouldn’t have any of these problems with SNG Barratt. You only need to read Julian’s posts here to understand the lengths the company goes to in trying hard to satisfy customers like us. If there is a problem, then Julian is always available. I don’t think I know who owns SC Parts, let alone having a direct line phone number to make contact in the event of a problem.

My very recent experience was not good with SC parts. Ordered some gearbox selector parts, unavailable from usual E type suppliers. They told me no problem, al in stock, delivery tomorrow blah blah. Delivery duly came following day but missing the vital part which usual suppliers were also unable to source. Ended up paying them £60 for some parts which would cost £30 from usual suppliers. Never used previously, would never use again.
After sales service was the clincher. Couldn’t give a s***, your problem not mine!

SC Parts is owned by a German outfit called Limora Oldtimer Verwaltungs GmbH . The Balance Sheet of SC Parts Group Limited makes interesting reading

I gave up about 10 years ago. Debited me for a set of wheels and spinners. They never arrived and when I checked with MWS they had not even ordered them. I cancelled the order and paid more to buy direct from MWS . I eventually got my money back but after a long wait. I dont get the business practice. I am amazed they are still operating.

I would rather keep my car off the road than give them a penny.

As has been said, incredible that they continue to prosper.

I in fact have never ordered @Limora and their prices are very high but independently two repair shops told me they were the oldtimer supplier of their choice, so their "reputation" seems much higher than their service quality. I am very satisfied with SNG !

Used them for the first time this year… ordered gearbox parts which they said were in stock ( no one else had them in stock). When the parts arrived the crucial part was ‘no longer available’. Cost me 50% extra over usual suppliers and still, did not get the part I required.

Will not be using them again
