#1 Historic and Classic Vehicles Alliance

Post by Gfhug » Wed May 26, 2021 6:00 pm

There was mention of this Alliance in the newspapers yesterday and their campaign to emphasise the business, financial and employment importance of the Classic Vehicles industry, restorers, engineers, suppliers, craftsmen, etc. with a £18.3 billion annual turnover. Quoting bureaucracy, Brexit, red tape and impending electrification as threats to the ownership and running of our cars.
There’s a few well known names involved. You may wish to learn more and/or join here:

The threat is also here on the other side with all the anti pollution regulations for the "big" cities . But there is also a strong lobbying to allow those few old cars to be driven everywhere .
The battle is hard but no winner until today...!

Agreed, polse.

Thanks, too, to the OP for the link.

Not as drastic as elsewhere as classics over 40 years old are exempt, but It looks as if I’ll need to dispose of my 1991 Alfa Spider S4 by the autumn as I live within the ULEZ area in London and Khan wants to relieve me of £12 a day for the privilege of using it there, even for keeping it on the street.

Some interesting facts on this site, and I think we all need to support this campaign. :salute:
