My personal view is that they wanted 100 E-Types for their Grand Court display but were not prepared to subsidise (in any way) the price of the tickets for that attendance notwithstanding the effort and cost of doing so. If they want to put on a display (and advertise it as a feature of the day), they should not make presumptions that car owners are willing to do so for nothing.

Think they wanted £45 a ticket....probably proves that to have a car show you need cars....and On top of the ticket price you will be there all day so need food and drink, plus fuel etc....seems reasonable to offer those making your show happen some sort of discount. I was away that weekend anyway but I would not have paid £45 to park in a field...even in Blenheim Palace! Maybe if they had offered pre booked tickets for those showing cars for £20 they would have had more cars? I'm showing at the local St Francis Hospice show in Berkhamsted this Sunday. I was at the Salon Prive and did enjoy the day. It was a bit expensive at £75 for my wife and myself. The one bonus was that for the few E Types that did turn up, they got to park on the South Lawn with all the the top cars and the hospitality tents.
We enjoyed the day even if it was £12 for a glass of bubble. The downside was that I did not get to speak with any of the other E Type owners as I am sure there was one or two E Type forum members there.
Would I go again, I am not sure but I treat these events as a reason to get out and enjoy the E Type experience.

When I looked into it (just a few weeks ago), they stated they would have a display of 100 E-Types in the Great Courtyard. Having read your post, I am so pleased we did not fork out the £75 for my Wife and I to attend. I would not have been impressed had I paid that on the understanding of parking in the Great Courtyard and then end up on the lawn.

Hi Phil,

There were no cars In the Great Court Yard. The main show was on the South Lawn. As the number of E Types did not turn up the E Types were allowed to park in the elite area where the Salon Prive took place. The clubs and other cars were on the great lawn at the front. So in a sense we were upgraded.
