#1 Scissor Lifts

Post by SimonBrown » Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:53 pm

Does anyone have any experience with either an Automotech AS7530 or AS7630 scissor lift for an E Type SWB?
I have limited garage height, need to be able to drive over it and could do with it being mobile. Unfortunately I don’t have room for either a 2 or 4 post.
Any advise would be appreciated
Thank you
Simon

Hi Simon...great that your looking at these since our chat at C70 Gaydon.....the c7530 is the one that a friend has...very usefull tool giving center access under the car....he,s used it to remove engine and irs...... the 7630 is i think less usefull due to the cross members and center rams..............basically the 7530 is left in position all the time as to park you just drive on and over it.....Steve

Questions about the 7530: how does it support the car? Looks too short to support the wheels or is there a way to extend the platform to lift the wheels? Otherwise lifting on the monocoque and wheels left dangling?
Thanks for any knowledge/experience

Hi Geoff.....lift as you would with a 2 post...blocks on the platform to lift at strong points. ....radius arm bushes....chassis rails.....front bulkhead etc.....put timbers across the 2 platforms.......lots of options....wheels hang down on lift as on a 2 post.....Steve
