#1 Any two colour interiour?

Post by Pex » Sat Dec 25, 2021 11:56 am

My black interior looks very tired and it's time to put in new carpets, sill covers etc.
The car is white and I have already restored the seats and they are black but thinking of changing colour on the rest of the interior to like "tan brown" or grey.
Has anyone a two colour interior and can share some pictures?
Opinions?

Peter, sorry no photos at the moment.
But my Light Blue S2 has the original dark blue interior, seats, door cards etc. but I decided to fit light grey carpets which look great as a contrast and brighten up the interior considerably.
I’d recommend doing it, though you’ll need to consider your colours and how well they go together. Fortunately I have a wife that is far better at that aspect than me!

I’m surprised nobody has gone off piste with the interior colours.

I’d also like some inspiration for the interior as I’ll need to fix this mess at some point
It’s a shame my seats are relatively new as I can’t abide the red piping.

Red exterior looks nice with black seats and red carpet in my opinion (a Ferrari choice).

I was trying to garner some interest in a response to Peter's question and some inspiration for my own.
I don’t recommend dark blue and black together like mine.

Steve I was thinking of going red with the seats and possibly the interior.

Barrie. The carpets are newish and black. Is that the scheme in your Ferrari?

Red and black is one of my favourite colour combinations but it’s not floating my boat here.

Hello Trevor, as usual specialist cars have lots of choice for owners when new. My 355 has all black seats with red carpets, black console and dash. Some of the same model use seats with panels of the contrast colour - I think there are some photos about if you google it.
Good luck deciding - I know its difficult.

After SWMBO got involved the color choices dramatically changed
There will be some kind of beige, sand or maybe magnolia (John Skinner ltd), for the interior.
Most likely magnolia as in picture below but with black seats, armrest(box) and front floor carpets, everything else in magnolia.
Will order some samples but I really like magnolia as it is shown in picture, think it will also work with cream white car.

Why did you move the handbrake to the sill like an XJS/XK8 then.

So not a Challenger, but perhaps to some a Frankenstein, still beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
