Does it match the colour of the overdrive casting you have squeezed into your FHC and for which some of us are still awaiting pix to encourage/discourage attempts at the same alchemy?
Overdrive? Overdrive? Not me Pete. Others may try. I did have one on my Dolomite (first car) and it was the only part of the engine and drivetrain that didn't break down. But I'm very happy with my standard E type box thank you

Firstly
Amen Simon, I couldn't agree with you more.
I purchased my 68 series 1.5 2+2 in old English White, which in my humble opinion really suited the car. However somehow and don' ask me why I had an epiphany and decided a full nut and bolt restoration was the way forward. So after much sole searching I decided on OGG, and i am so glad I did. The colour (once again in my opinion) looks stunning on the car. I have also gone for a dark blue interior from BAS (not everyone's dream combination I know), which should be done shortly :fingerscrossed: You have got to follow your heart, right!
sorry can't show you any pictures of the completed car as it's still in bits, but you can get an idea from these. What a dilemma.

Sole searching, Mark? Make it a turbot and I’ll believe you
Smiling with you not at you.
And I like the colour combination you’ve decided on.

Thanks Geoff for spotting my unintentional pun. You guys really do take attention to detail seriously. With that said, thankyou for your approval.

I just would like to add “two pennuth”
I have an S3 in azure blue, no problem with tiny road chips,..camel hair brush and that’s it. Currently in bits but going back to Azure!
My friend has an S3 in OG painted by the PO he curses endlessly about stone chips, no matter how carefully he tries he can’t “dissolve” the spot repair into the rest of the bodywork no matter how hard he tries, he’s a very experienced “car guy”. BUT he lives with it, as it’s a colour he loves, and that what matters!

I would say my OSG car must be the same color as yours Peter, from your picture.

The paint shop told me years ago there is a light shade and a dark shade for OSG. I have sprayed out both and the dark shade is substantially darker, a bit more like Gunmetal, but not the same.

Matching it has been easy actually. I even tried Aston Martin Silver Birch on the suggestion of the factors and it proved to be an identical formula to the light shade of Jaguar OSG.

Then again, I have no lacquer on my car! It fell off years ago and I never replaced it. Lets call it a "patina " finish. Someone asked me once if the car was wrapped!

I would not fancy trying to blend in Jeremys perfect paint finish, thats for sure. Their is alot more than just the colour to think about in that case.

Would there be any Opalescent-Gunmetal-Grey and Opalescent-Silver-Grey cars going to Goodwood ?

I've happily hooked up with one OGG owner with whom I've got a car-park RDV, but wondered if there might be some others ?

Hello Rory

I am not going to Goodwood in the E..but I live close to Guilford which is a hours drive north or so….and would be more than happy for you to call round if that works for you over the Goodwood weekend to see my Gunmetal car

I guess you would like to see them side by side so perhaps this isn’t of any use..but the offer is there if you would like on Saturday or Sunday

It is a gorgeous colour and seems to only solicit compliments about the colour ..that deep silver tone is quite magnificent

I’ll be at Goodwood, in the classic show parking area so I’ll keep an eye out for other members’ E’s.
I’ll be in my 3.8 OGS fhc.

I will be there on Sunday in my Gunmetal with Biscuit interior S1 OTS. Hope to be arriving at about 7-15 am in the pre 66 car park. Weather permitting.

Great idea but unless you all arrive at the same time they tend to park you all over the place.
