#1 The Queen

Post by Mich7920 » Thu Sep 08, 2022 6:03 pm

My thoughts are with all my English friends who are crying tonight.
For us foreigners, not being able to have the same feeling, we can only imagine your sadness.
What a life and what a woman!

I'm not religious at all but I still write
God save the queen.

I want to offer my condolences for the loss of your Queen. She was such a dignified and inspirational monarch and an example to the rest of the world of what a leader can and should be. Long live the King!

There is an absolute masterpiece of a speech of tribute from Boris Johnson , who of course saw her last on Tuesday when attending his last audience with her as Prime Minister , delivered earlier today

(I'm afraid the message is a bit misleading - just click on it and it still seems to work )

God Save the King !

She leaves quite a void, probably one difficult to be filled...

She was very much liked in Poland and we admired have for her political impartiality.

My true condolences.

Somewhat dissapointing that a Mercedes is used to transport the Queen's body to Edinburgh.

Yes my wife and I said the very same, Jaguar or Rolls Royce would have been expected.

I think a Mercedes or Rolls would be more fitting for their German origins. Jaguar is now Indian owned.
And they’ve been running around in VAG products for over two decades

I would have thought someone could have supplied a Daimler DS420 Hearse. We too raised our eyebrows when we saw a Mercedes drive out of Balmoral. That was then compounded by the presence of the funeral directors' name on the rear side windows.

Perhaps fitting that her final journey was in a specially built Jaguar hearse. May she rest in peace. :wavegreatbritain:
