With the imminent cold snap (-5c/23f) looming here in UK does anyone have any tips for driving?! It's a dry cold apparently so hopefully ice won't be too much of an issue...
Whilst i'd prefer not to, for various reasons I have to drive my 1968 FHC cross country later this week. Motorway, A roads and rural B roads.
Praying they won't grit but any advice if they do would be much appreciated. Also cold cold starts - i've topped up anti-freeze!

Gritters out tonight....so salt now on the roads....quite widespread looking at the forcast......Tips....put your heater on......Steve

Did 100+ miles in mine today bringing it back from Essex to Kent before the salt spreading starts. I would certainly recommend a thorough snow foam and jet wash as soon as you get where you’re going to.
3 additional things I learned today:
Truck and van drivers make no allowance for brakes on an old car when they want to pull out.
Sunset viewed from Dartford (QE2) bridge is hard to beat
E types are happiest in the outside lane
