Funny that, I was there but missed this one, no wonder it was too crowded, just couldn't enjoy it and left after a couple of hours. Shame we didn't meet. They were a few E's there but nothing to write home about and that includes the auctions area.

Yes didn’t think to ask if any forum members were going.
i though the series 1 4.2 fhc in grey with red interior ( and luggage boxes) seemed well restored but the a/p of 245k seemed optimistic in the current market

Yes indeed. Apparently can be fitted in non 2+2 cars without major surgery which surprised me given the size of it. Needs removal of the handbrake which is replaced by an electronic parking brake. A ZF box with Ford branding.

Did you think to ask how this would be looked on by DVLA when you notify them of an engine change.....Steve

Hi Steve no I didn’t, but I assume it would be a substantially modified vehicle and not qualify for historic vehicle status. Therefore it would require an annual mot, but I’m not sure whether the mere fact it’s been changed to an electric vehicle automatically qualifies for a £0 tax rate without some form of further scrutiny???
P.s. C type revocation on Historics auction stand.

I was thinking more along the lines of radically altered vehicle thus requireing an IVA test.....a standard looking E type wouldnt pass and you then could end up with dvla refusing registration....i dont actually know but thats my thinking....Steve

I think that what i mentioned above is possibly why JLR dropped its E type electric conversion program...started just after Harry and Megan drove off in the Electric E type.....I your thinking of buying one check out if its registered correctly...just like any replica etc.........Steve

I guess that one was decent but the luggage was a strange shape
The price though
