I have a new flasher unit plus a new hazard flasher unit for my Series 3 USA LHD.
Could anybody tell me just how to get to these units so I can replace them. I have read several conflicting accounts of where they are located and what to dismantle to achieve it.
The only one that makes sense to me is lifting the top of the dashboard off but again need to know just how to go about removing it.
If anyone knows please let me know I would be grateful for your help.

On my car the flasher unit is located under the dashboard to the left hand side of the glove box.
Visible if you remove the trim under the glove box.

The hazard flasher is behind the central dash panel. Hinge the panel down and it’s in the centre at the back.

Tony I’ve checked behind the centre instrument cluster just now which I’ve checked before, no flasher of any description there.
Directly under the glove box is covered with the air con unit so no access to above.
I see your list of cars do not include a series 3 , I think there is a difference. What I’ve found out so far is if I remove the top of the dash I can then get access to both flasher units mounted at the side of the glovebox.
If anyone has removed their dashtop I could do with knowing how they did it.

The outer dash top is held by four nuts screwed into four studs hanging down from the dash. Two are in the corner edges and you'll have to remove the chrome finishers at the A posts (use cross headed screwdriver for that - two screws per side pointing outboard) and the centre two are accessible at the edges of the centre panel (undo the thumbscrews and drop the centre panel down to access those).

Then undo the panel light wiring in the centre of the dash.

You can then do a backflip with the dash and it'll just shimmy past the hockey stick trims on the A posts and up and over the steering wheel.

Once you've done that, you should have access to what you need.

If you need to remove the second (inner) dash, then that'll become obvious once the outer dash is off.

Refitting is the opposite procedure, but you have to line up the two aircon vents and hoses before pressing the dash down into place.

You may have difficulty lining up the cross headed screws for fitting the little triangular moquette trim and chrome finishers. C'est la vie.
