After 18 years of ownership I discover what I think is an Optimate SAE71 style charger lead curled up behind the binnacles. It would surely be much easy to keep the battery topped up in winter without having to angle the hood open!

But I'm struggling to find how to connect it to my CTEK XS800 trickler. Ths has what I think is called a "comfort connector"

I've attempted to attach photos of each attachment.

My preferences are buy an adaptor gold , buy a different charger silver and mess unmecessarily with anything in the car a very distant bronze.

I can't find a suitable adaptor on the web. So what do you wiser people recommend?

Befor I plugged a charger into it I'd make sure its connected to the battery...strange place to have a charge socket as you then need to have the charger lead running through the door?

I have a CTec leads permanently attached to the battery terminals
When I plug the ctec in the lead comes forward over the soft rubber strip into the front wheel well

It's a soft top, so either top off or windows open. I will check as you recommend. Any thought on what adaptor i need, assuming that it is indeed connected?

Your photos show 2 different plugs...doubt you can find an adaptor that fits both...but who knows..I would rewire a socket by the dash to fit your ctek plug....Steve

the vehicle side connector seems not to be an SAE 71 style connector. If it would be one, then Ctek sells the interface Artikelnr. 56-564. The best pictures are on Amazon

It comes with a battery charge indicator. Maybe that you find a match for SAE71 to what you have found in the dash.

I just crocodile clip onto the battery. Doesn't take a tick to open the bonnet.

My trickle charger goes into my cigarette lighter,ctek charger and buy the adaptor
