#1 Smooth to fluted cam covers date?

When did E-Type XK cam covers change from smooth to the black fluted style please? Was it prior to the series 1.5?
Apparently not. Clausager says it was June to October, 1967, for USA series 1.5 cars starting from Chassis Nos.

And February to March, 1968, for non-USA series 1.5 cars. Engine Nos.
