It was changed because the company making the repro's were lazy and clueless. More info here: viewtopic.php?p=36206#p36206

Buy s/h original and have them refurbished.

Keeping on the subject of spinners for a moment, I saw (for the first time in the flesh) 77 RW at the NEC Classic Car Show. I was saddened to see that its earlier restoration had not taken the path of maintaining originality of its parts. Quick examples I spotted as a walked around it were, the aforementioned reproduction spinners with the narrow G, the incorrect chequerboard horn-push with the white background behind the growler ears, E11 coded rear reflectors, front indicator lenses with the later centre band as opposed to horizontal fluting and much later triplex coded headlamp glass covers.

Today's announcement from jaGUar is the price of the Type 00 cars on launch will start at £150,000 (at today's prices) rather than the previously stated £100,000. Deliveries will start in 2027. They need to sell 30,000 vehicles a year across the three planned models - GT, SUV and Saloon - to break even. Last year Jaguar sold 67,000 cars and when challenged Gerry McGovern said the 5 metre (16 feet) length of the new car being too long said " the UK isn't its biggest market" and that in the US and China "it won't appear to be massive".

67.000 cars last year, 30.000 to break even, and 15% of previous customers expected to be retained, that means a substantial amount of new customers to be extracted from the luxury brands :scratchheadyellow:

Bentley sold 15,174 cars last year (a drop of 11%), 44% of which were the Bentayga SUV. Rolls Royce delivered 6,021 cars. Ferrari 13,663. Porsche sold 320,221 cars, 40,629 of which were Taycan EV's and Cayenne SUV's were delivered to 87,553 customers.; deliveries to China were down 15%!

Thin pickings for a 'new' supplier of luxury vehicles.

:yeahthat:

Also, all those other luxury marques have massive automotive corporations underpinning them.

If I worked at Jaguar, I'd be worried.
