#1 Preparing for my trip to the Pyrenees

Post by JerryL770 » Tue Mar 18, 2025 12:14 pm

I have awoken my car from its winter slumber and taken it to my restorer for service.

It turns out to need quite a bit doing to ensure reliability on a maybe 2,000 mile journey.

Clutch slave and master cylinders are leaking, coolant hoses are cracking and swelling but most important (?), I've been mithering for some time about the clunk I get from the rear end at times. The differential needs a rebuild. There's play in one output shaft bearing and also possibly play in the spider gear shaft. I've contacted Simply Performance for a rebuild cost. Awaiting the costly news!

Whilst the IRS is out I'll have remote bleed kit fitted. Onwards
