#1 Metalastik 17/903 4 steering rack mount

Looking to replace the original mounts on my E type series 3 experimental model -EX102. Usual series 3 mounts are not direct replacement neither are series 2. The single shaft on the rear is short (about 1”) and the 3 holes are inline. I understand they were fitted to series 1. Does anyone have new olds stock or no supplier as I would like to keep as original as possible.
Many thanks
Simon

Simon, can’t help you there, but please do tell us more about your car. It sounds interesting.

Hi Simon....I think these mounts were used on the very early S1 racks?......interesting ....there must be a solution as lots of early cars have been restored....if you cant find replacements then...could you modify S2/3 mounts to fit....or consider making solid mounts.....Steve...ps have flagged this to someone who may know...

The series 2 is similar in look but the size is different and has a longer thread. The 3 is correct dimensions but curved ends. Seems I’ll have to go for these unless I order 1200 from the manufacturer….

If you AI Jaguar experimental EX102 you will get quite detailed info. It is one of 4 produced, the only LHD, has series 3 suspension, cooling , brakes and bonnet. The scope on the front is smaller than the manufactured series 3. A lot of the metal work on the bulkhead is hand welded. Brake ducts similar. USA rear prop ratio. Did have emissions fitted. All paper work from 1976.

I have checked 2 early cars (47 and 39) and they both have the 'normal' s1 mounts with the long studs. I see in the parts book the mount was changed early on in production but both of these cars were fitted with the first type so it looks like what you have is a hybrid mount of some type.

Might be best if you looked at other models?

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Thank you mgcjag and to Angus for your time on my behalf. I have been doing research and so far cannot find anyone who recognises it all I have found is a mention of the shorter stud on the series 1 to not catch! But not saying what.
