#1 E Type Fabs - new products

Post by Heuer » Sun Oct 25, 2009 12:35 pm

I had a long chat with Uryk at ETF and he explained to me the new products they were bringing to market:

1. Short tail 5 speed gearbox

This modified version of the existing ETF 5 speed means the Jaguar prop shaft can be used without modification. All ETF gearboxes delivered from January will be in this format. Not having to supply a modified prop shaft as part of the package means a more cost effective solution.

2. ETF Torsion Bars

Frustrated with the cost and availability of new torsion bars Uryk decided to make his own. All machining is done in house and a choice of steel means there is a mildly stiffer option for road use and an upgraded version for fast road/track use.

3. ETF Brakes

Uryk is introducing his own brake upgrades for the E-Type. Calipers are aircraft grade alloy with four pots. Rear calipers have a specially designed link to allow one to operate as the handbrake. Discs, front and rear, are ventilated and grooved. For anyone who wants to take the upgrades further ETF are offering a set of outboard rear calipers and discs which will move the weight out to the wheel hubs, as on a modern car, and provide better cooling in extremis. Ideal for track days.

4. ETF power steering

They are working on an electric power steering unit that will retro fit into all models. Assistance can be adjusted to suit the driver.

I have not seen any of these yet but Uryk has invited me up to test drive a car equipped with his 5 speed box, uprated torsion bars and caliper/disc set in the near future. Any questions please give Uryk a call at ETF.

#3 E-type fabs 5 speed ratios

Post by Carl 65fhc » Sun Apr 03, 2011 1:42 pm

Hi David,
New to this forum so please excuse me if this has already been answered elsewhere..
Q) Do you know the exact ratios for the e-type fabs five speed? I've not been able to see them listed anywhere on the web.

Regards

Carl
