#1 VALVOLINE VR1 20W50 MINERAL OIL CHEAP DEAL

Post by SESH » Thu Apr 21, 2011 9:13 pm

Hi all,
Just seen Eurocarparts are doing special offer on servicing parts including oils. They sell Valvoline VR1 Racing Mineral Oil. I'm told this is recommended for the e type. Current offer from 22 April to 02 May of 30% discount. 5 Litres is just over ?21.00 with free delivery !!
You need to add the code for the discount of wedding30. Apparantly its something to do with a certain wedding coming up. I've bought a "small" supply.!!
Mike

I buy suitable ( 15w/40 ) oils for about ? 46 for 25 litres or rather less than half that price.

Christopher, everyone to their own.
I only posted it because it's a very good price for VR1 and the oil is a premium oil for classic engines. Some of the large restorers swear by it. I can buy much cheaper oil too, but prefer to use VR1.

"Some of the large restorers swear by it."
My cousin is not a restorer, only a Dipl. Ing. of "Mechanics". He is also hobby race driver (Porsche 600 hp up) and has some expensive Ferraris from the sixties und seventies. The Daytona he is driving with no mercy.
Which type of oil is he filling in his superexpensive Ferrari motors ? Cheap Castrol 15W40 from the supermarket. Why is he not using expensive 10W60 "race oil" like "large restorers" ?

Thanks Mike for sharing, that's a really good price. I like VR1 - use it in my Stag but probably very good for the E also. I've ordered 20 litres. I've passed the info on to the Stag fraternity as well so Eurocarparts will now be deluged with requests for VR1!!

Glad you found it useful. I had a Stag in the late 70's one of the nicest cars to drive at the time. It was a manual with overdrive. I have noted that according to DVLA it's still around today. Always wondered what had happened to it. Reg was DOX 663K. Mike

Hi Chris,

Here is the link
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-a ... &0&cc5_251

When you put the item in the basket and go to checkout it will ask you for a promotional code, you put in wedding30 and it will give you 30% discount.

Good luck.
Mike.
