Not really a bargain : price about right for what it was
1.Automatic
2.a left to right conversion
3.and the real killer... a cut down from a 2+2 . These are always difficult , and sometimes impossible , to sell
It was noticeable, incidentally, that amongst the enormous numbers of Es at Silverstone, V12s were a rarity

As they were so rare does that mean they are worth more then !!

I saw a lot of Series 3 cars on Saturday...you could smell the un-burnt petrol for miles!
A chum went to look at that S3 with a view to buying, but wasn?t at all impressed with the quality of work that had been completed on the car. That and it being converted to an OTS makes it a bargain basement price.
Auction prices are always going to be pretty low compared to retail prices, especially at a specialist E type vendor. It would take a very brave or very knowledgeable person to stump up the ?50k, ?70k or ?90k for a car that couldn't be tried out and has no warrantee.
A stunning early flat floor 3.8, in Gunmetal with red interior, sold last week at Brightwells for ?53k. It is of the quality that would have sold (and probably will sell) in one of the E Type shops, once it's 'been through the workshops' for ?80k plus.

I am sure that you are right. But it looked so good in the photos! and for ?23k it looked a bargain.

This car born as a LHD FHC, later converted to a RHD OTS. Those modifications must be reflected in the price.
