#1 Eagle Etypes - Side Mirror

Post by ChrisC » Thu Sep 22, 2011 2:49 pm

I quite like the side mirror that Eagle use on a number of their cars - anyone know where it comes from?

Apologies to Eagle for linking to their picture

Chris, that looks like the TEX mirror. I bought one for my series 3. But the angle when mounted to the upper door doesn't give good rear vision. After full adjustment all I can see is the road ! Although I have noted on the Eagle cars the mirror is mounted high on the door across the upper chrome trim.

There is an earlier thread going on this subject.

Well I have either a slight different type of mirrow on my FHC (but looks like to be the same) or it is postition well (still screwed on the door skin). Because I see a lot in the drivers mirror....

But I do not like the look of the mirrors themself too much and even worse with the asychronous mounting (http://www.xkedata.com/gallery/zoom/?id=175538). So I will at one point of time replace them with Talbot ones.

Hi Chris,

It does look like the Tex Mirror, I started a thread on these things a while ago - I currently have three of the things sitting useless in my garage, I agree that they cannot be adjusted to any sort of useful position if mounted on the curve of the door, but I was about to mount them exactly as seen in this view, although this needs some adaptation of the Series2/3 chrome trim. It seemed to me that I could make them work in that position. In the end I asked the specialists to look into the poor fit of the mirror and went for clip ons for now.

If you do buy Tex ones, go direct to Tex, they are a little cheaper and you have a choice of flat or convex mirrors, illustrations and contact details on their website Search Google for Tex UK.

The thread referred to is here, if it helps:
