underdash brackets

hello all my S3 e type came over from NewZealand and has been changed in the past from left to righthand drive, everything seems to have been done fine, except there are no crash bars or under dash fittings or parts its all missing on both sides I have the new bars but cant see how they go on, as no fittings, any advice will be appreciated.. thanks johnmack

Hi Johnmack,
Here is a picture of a UK Spec RHD Series III 2+2 car from 1971 my own car:

I have highlighted the brackets, the two welded to the bulkhead (the middle pair) are for the back of the glocebox (or parcelshelf if you prefer), the Left hand hole and spire clip (captive clip for self tapping screw) is in the flange formed by the inner panel meeting the A Post front face and the right hand clip is actually part of the radio console, which is removeable.As you can see, RHD cars still have the cut out for a LHD steering column and as far as I know, the bulkheads for both RHD and LHD cars are identical, I certainly didn't notice any differences.
Incidentally, the bracket facing forward at the top of the shelf brackets take the screws for the fibre board trim below the actual glove box on the LHS and below the instruments on the RHS.
