Hi everyone, first time poster here so please be gentle!
Apologies if this isn't the right section of the forum, I had a little look around but it seemed like the best place to post. I'm trying to track down the whereabouts of my dad's old E-Type which he owned in the late 60s / early 70s, and wondered if anyone is able to offer any advice on how to go about this? I've checked on www.askmid.com and it's showing as insured so it must be around somewhere. I'm hoping to put together a little something for him as I know he'd love to find out the history of the car after he parted ways with it, so as a starter I can give a little bit of information on its early years...
Reg: CLL 617B
Colour: Dark blue
Year: 1964
Known history: My dad bought it in 1967/68, and traded in a Mk1 Saloon for it. He kept it until around 1973, at which point it was traded in for a Scimitar at a dealership somewhere in Derby. At some point in it's ownership a van/lorry made a dent in the side in my dad's work car park. He also managed to detach the exhaust by bumping into a high kerb, so a friend with some welding equipment helped to make a custom exhaust (which sounded great apparently!)
I'm hoping to get a couple of pictures off my dad at some point so will try to follow up with those soon.
Any advice anyone can give on helping to track down the car would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Dave.

OTS or FHC? I can find CLL 675B but not CLL 617B in the Directory of Owners. You could try www.XKEdata.com.
According to the DVLA:

Sorry, should have added that it's a FHC. Thanks for the link to XKEdata, I've had a look through there but haven't found it yet. Something makes me think it might be sat in someone's collection under a blanket and hidden away from the public now, so might be a bit tricky to track it down.Heuer wrote:OTS or FHC? Thanks for that info Heuer. Certainly helps to know I'm looking for a silver model now rather than blue!
