I just couldn't beleive my local council were spreading grit tonight!!
is a freeze on the way ?
well its put paid to any outings for a few days
I was sure it was June

no mistake! but it turns out a good reason
A heating oil tanker had a problem and lost oil over about six miles!
so it seems the best thing was to send a spreader, they were out with sand today to soak up some more
first time ive seen this but better safe and all that

It is probably cement . This is widely used in motor racing for oil spills . Or it could be Fuller's Earth

Ah yes, that brings back childhood memories. It will be for the chapped lips the council workers acquired sucking the oil off the road.

just a bit taken aback coming round the corner meeting a gritter spreading
it seems unlikely it was salt just didnt fancy a taste!
