Interesting how much the bonnet to scuttle gap opens up under braking or cornering - due to frame distortion probably !

It is under braking and I think it is merely the fact that the bonnet plunges forward a little under braking and rises on its catches . The rubbers are obviously not set down far enough !

Aaaaah this takes me back to my own motor racing days (albeit in a short wheelbase S1 XJ6). Donnington was a great track but Mallory was always my favourite where my car and I performed best 8)

Ditto, although I think Donington is a better track than its near neighbour. I never raced with the Melbourne loop either, so that video is just as it was for me on two wheels, except for the missing Dunlop bridge. Last time I went round there was actually in an XJR6 come to think of it. Didn't know they'd got rid of that landmark over Starkey's Straight. Seems naked somehow.

However, despite watching the video full-screen, I was sad to see no oil flags being waved at any point (unless I missed them). In my day the marshals just before Goddards would have been waving the stripes for all they were worth, let alone those at the exit and the post across from the pits at the start/finish straight. A lot of expensive damage and bruises could have been prevented. Tut tut...

Mr C Evans bid on the Dunlop Bridge and won it at the Goodwood revival auction for ?300 ? by accident ? , then realised when he went to see it was about 230ft long , , don?t know whats happened to it since though.. The mock Spitfire that was near the old hairpin is also gone, I was told it was damaged when contractors tried to move it ?.
I?m a fan of both circuits but Donnington is the one for me , used to do track days when my pal had a R500 , just flows perfectly on the short circuit without the loop.
