Does anybody have or know of this car? It is alive and well and on the DVLA system.

I was just going through some old paperwork for an Elan I bought many moons ago, and came across a hand written receipt for the above E Type.

It's from W.T.Lock in Standford-Le-Hope, and is a receipt for £660 as full payment for 1962 E Type Jaguar registration mark 72 EXB. Sold as seen tried and tested.

The receipt was amongst paperwork from the early 70s, and from the price, I would guess that's when it was issued.

It will make a nice little addition to the cars history!

So I realise this is a post from 2013, but I have some information about this car (it belonged to my late father in the 1960s) - I have written about it in the Welcome section.

This must be from me - I used to own 72 EXB, and I certainly handed a bundle of papers that I thought were elan paperwork over to Mark Kempson Cannons when I sold the Elans to him. I think the date I bought the E type would have been 1976, around August probably. If you search the forum theres some more stuff on 72EXB.

Your elan would either be +2 OYY88F or an S2 whose reg escapes me.

Peter, welcome to the best place for all things E Type.
Can you tell us more about the car, when you bought, miles and journeys you’ve done, any work?

Cheers, Geoff

There’s a pic of the car in Kent in Apr 2008 as ots, and xkedata shows it as a fhc in 1977, so the top came off sometime between those dates 🤔
