I don't know if any one out there has used these guys.
http://www.keysinthepost.com/
I have just tried them and have to say what a great service ordered new keys for a the ignition (lost) arrived next day, perfect fit.
They only needed the year, make, model and the number from the front of the barrel.
They also say they can do keys to a drawing, photograph or send them the lock if your completely stuck. I will be using them again when I build the doors.
Best thing is I avoided having to part with too much money for an over priced inferior after market copy.

looks a good website, i will make a note for when i need something a bit newer.

When i went to the PASSION FOR POWER show at Manchester recently, i purchased 2 keys as spares, one for the ignition, and the other the petrol cap. I got them from a stall holder who had hundreds on display. all he needed was the numbers on the keys. no cutting etc. and the price?.... ?3.00 each.
?3.00 wouldn't buy you a battery for the key fob in today's cars

There are a couple of vendors on eBay if, like me, you always forget to take along the key number you need!
Here are a couple....

Probably the same guys at some of the shows.

I think this vendor also advertises on e-bay under classic car keys.
I had two ignition barrels for series 1, the one I had a key for was OK but I thought I would get keys for the other to see what it was like.
I guess not having a key meant it got a lot less use so it is a little tighter and I now have three keys as opposed to one. :D
