I ran through what must be my all time favourite 'car' film over the weekend, amusing and clever film with a great cast and thats not even starting to mention the music score and the cars!.
With the 'CRY' etype known to exist what I wonder is the story of the film car was it a bare shell or rusty wreck that the bull dozer mullered?

If the internet is to be believed>>>
"The Aston Martin and the E-Type Jaguars were luckier. This is especially fortunate as one E-Type, chassis no 12 (yes, they really rammed a wheel-loader bucket into the roof of the 12th production Jaguar E-Type and then rolled it down a hill), had been the first to compete in motorsport. Although badly damaged it was fully restored and is now in a private collection. The Aston, too, was unusual; a convertible DB4 by Touring, one of only 215 made. While the seven- or eight-year-old E-Types probably weren't worth much in 1969, the Aston undoubtedly would have been. This car was also restored."

That does not level with XKEData.com which says chassis #12 went directly to Australia and is lost.

Dave
That is the danger with the internet? - anything can be written or copied from another article until in time it can be perceived as the truth...
That is why I was hoping that someone might know the true facts.
Can you imagine the press that would accompany the re discovery of 12!

DVLA says Green and taxed until December, JDC Directory of Vehicles and XKEdata says Red - take your pick.
