I think he had some work on engine, suspension, gearbox - the lot.
No Moss crash box here.

He has also had all fear removed from his brain.

Monster tyres and monster cojones involved, methinks.

I never had the money for hyper-quick engines but could always gain places on braking, especially off-road where people are scared of trees and rope barriers! Everyone concentrates on go-faster goodies but not many totally nail the stop-faster scenario, which is just as important when competing. That guy does.

I spent the better part of 10 years racing a '65 coupe. It had a dyno tested 375 hp engine and a 2300 pound weight. Alex is obviously a great driver but it's the car that's surreal. He's not just passing competitive cars (look at all the E Types he passes as if they are just street cars) he's blowing by. Not only great handling but oh that motor. I'd really like to know what they've done to it - I'd really like one!

If you think that was impressive watch this,..Jon Minshaw going from back of the grid to 3rd in a field of about 30 race prepared E types in the 2011 E Type challenge series, which he won that year. This race had many semi lightweight race prepared E Types including some original low drag coupes. He is a similar standard of driver to Alex who won the e type challenge the year after I think. Each engine costs about 50K and some cars have them rebuilt after every race!

For those of you who don't Oulton Park in Cheshire it is a very tough undulating narrow circuit, very exciting to drive, I've been round it many times on track days in my S3 and had a few spins too. There are other videos of Jon Minshaw at Donington Park as well.

2nd race in 2012 at Donington, watch 7mins 30secs onwards for some drama, ouch! I was directly opposite and video'd the mayhem.
