#1 Storing wire wheels over the Winter

Hi Everyone

I noticed that my passenger front wire wheel was badly discoloured after the Winter layup. Fortunately after an hour's elbow grease it was back to it's shiny best.
Is there any type of storage wax/grease that can be sprayed onto the wheels to protect them and then be simply washed off when required?

Cheers

Alan

After cleaning the wheels on the 4.2 we spray them with clear duck oil, ditto for the wishbones etc and the IRS. We also run duck oil down the returned edge on the bottom of the front wings and spray behind things like the heater inlet duct, and the air scoops. Keeps everything fine.

Thanks for the replies. I'll go for the WD40 option since I've got plenty in the garage.
