#1 E-type Tach and Speedometer

I was comparing pictures between the interior of the new lightweight jaguar e-type and mine and i noticed the tach and speedometer are switched, is this something they do on race cars?

The cars always have the speedo on the outside of the car and the tacho on the inside . So a lhd car has speedo on the left, and vice versa

And all the LWE's are RHD.
