Searching for DEH 669J and YPL 42H
#1 Searching for DEH 669J and YPL 42H
Hi all, new to the site, trying to trace a couple of S2's that my parents owned back in the 70's as I would like to know what became of them. First one is a Primrose yellow series 2 drophead, DEH 669J, manual, on wires. All I know is that it was about the 8th from last drophead S2 built. My dad sold it in early 1976 to my best friends brother, a David Malyon, for ?1500! I would love some photos of it as it is now if possible.
The second one is a red S2 2+2, YPL 42H, it was on chrome pressed wheels (my Dad didn't think that my Mum could cope with knock off wires if she got a puncture!), it had black leather and a red Webasto roof and again was a maual. My mum was forever cooking the clutch and I remember her having to collect it from Ray Powells in Forest Gate after being fixed a few times! I do have a couple of pictures with it in the background but would like to see some current ones!
If anyone knows the whereabouts of either car, I would be very grateful if you could let me know.
Tim

At least the J Registered car is still being taxed....... No trace on the DVLA of the H-registered one - which means it was either written off before DVLA started transferring the records to the computer, it's not been on the road since around that time, or (more likely), it's had a change of reg number to a cherished one....... Anyway, records of the J-Reg ......

DEH 669J chassis #1R1770 is shown still as Primrose Yellow and extant in the JDC register but no owner name.
YPL 42H is not shown in the JDC register of owners. Neither is listed on xkedata.com

The red one might have been YPL 42J ?
If the yellow one is known, maybe someone can put me in touch with the current owner?

Does anyone have any idea where else I might be able to find the info/pics? Is there an Owners club forum that I could join?

#8 Pics added!
See next page!
I have discovered some Polaroids of two of the E's that we had, YPL 42H, the red one with my little brother in the pic!(He will probably kill me if he sees it!) and a series 1 FHC, 280 Too which is the blue one with me in the photo at the age of 2!

Those links do not work and contain advertising and other unwanted stuff. Please copy and paste the Photobucket links directly and the images will appear. No need for clicking any of the 'Img' or 'URL' buttons on the Forum post page, it should all be automagical!
